Stereotype? So what?!

Nobody cares if I'm ugly! They're looking at my axe!

This is a beginner's fighter build focusing on doing what dwarves do best: getting hit, and then hitting things back. It's a 28-point pseudo-tanking build, capable of holding decent threat in most situations and filling the gaps reliably with Intimidate. Using a dwarf's built-in waraxe proficiency, it can pick up glancing blows while doing respectable DPS, even with a shield. ANd if it needs to do more, that's what a greataxe and power attack are for.

The build picks up the cleave/great cleave feats early in order to give it some additional bite. If one desired, it would be easy to swap those around for tactical feats - stunning blow and sunder, or even combat expertise and improved trip. As a dwarf, you'll eventually want to go down that road (but you will need a +1 Intelligence tome in order to qualify for Combat Expertise), since you can boost your combat technique DCs up quite high.

On the skills front, I've eschewed the always-desirable Use Magic Device in favor of skills that are actually useful in the early game. If the dwarf reaches higher levels, it's an easy lesser reincarnation to shift points into there, and in the meantime, you'll be able to resist falling and tumble (even while using the tower shield, before too terribly long). Intimidate stays maxed, which is necessary since the build is a little lite on Charisma.
